I always love the “ABOUT” page on websites like this because they’re usually written in the third person … even though they’re typically penned by the owner of the business.
Anyway, what do you want to know?
I’m 52 years old. I live in Melbourne, Australia ( … there’s one in Florida too) with my wife, Dianna.
We’ve been married for 17 years and my hobbies include – motorsport, golf, table tennis, ten pin bowling, pool, indoor rock climbing and woodworking.
I’m guessing that’s not the kind of stuff you’re looking for.
You’re probably wondering: “Is this guy worth my time and attention?”
For many readers, the simple answer is NO!
Here’s why

I can’t teach you how to get rich quick by flipping houses.
Flipping houses has several inherent risks:
- potential to lose a lot of money
- time consuming (DIY)
- stressful
If it was easy … every tradesperson in Australia would be doing it and they’re NOT!
Both the “fix & flip” and “lick & flick scenarios can be profitable in the United States because their tax system is far more favourable than ours for investors adopting this strategy.
The minimum wage in some US States is as low as $7.25 per hour, whereas in Australia it’s $18.29 per hour … and renovating is a very labour intensive process.
When you also take into account the purchase price, mortgage fee, transfer fee, stamp duty, basic renovation costs, interest on loan, agent’s fees, advertising and other expenses … flipping houses in Australia simply doesn’t make sense.
If you want to take a gamble and roll the dice … then I’m not your guy.
“On the other hand, if you want to create wealth by buying, renovating and holding onto investment properties for the long term and renting them out, then I CAN help.”
Remember … land goes up in value and buildings (structures) go down!

If you want to do a doggy job and cover up problems, then you’re not going to enjoy attending Hybrid Renovating ™.
I have a BIG issue with DIY weekend warriors who try to pull the wool over other people’s eyes to make a quick profit. If that’s the type of course you’re looking for … then STOP reading now!
I’ve spent over 2,000 hours creating a training program that shows you how things should be done – i.e. the professional way
Investment Properties:
If you want to avoid endless phone calls from disgruntled tenants, then be proactive … and do some preventative maintenance & repairs before minor issues become big problems.
“If a tenant however wants to live in the Taj Mahal, then they are free to build their own palace.”
You just need to make sure everything in the property works, and is safe.
Personal Home:
Everyone’s budget is different, so I’ve done my best to cater for both ends of the scale, and the middle too. I have adopted a good, better and best philosophy when creating various sections of the course so you can choose.
Example:
Classic Picket Fence (Specifications) Posts & Plinth Boards …
Class 1 or 2 in-ground / H4 treated timber (chemical protection) or naturally resistance species
■ Cypress = Good ■ Treated Pine = Better ■ Hardwood = Best
Final Point
If you want to see lots of before & after shots, then there are already plenty of excellent Magazines & Websites that do that.
Hybrid Renovating ™ is different; it focuses on managing what happens in the middle of the project … the IMPORTANT BIT!
This training program is all about YOU, and your project(s); and not mine, or anyone else’s.

If you also want to attend a ‘Boot Camp’ style renovation course, then I don’t want to help you either.
It’s important that you understand why I’m telling you that. I can help you, I just won’t. I’m capable of it, but I refuse to do it.
Why?
Because I have trained over 2,500 adults during the past ten years and I know what works … and what doesn’t, and the BEST way to learn is in small bursts – i.e. weekly sessions and not 3 or 4 days solid.

99 renos ® are a big believer in the proven principles of adult learning, and attending a ‘Boot Camp’ is a very ineffective way to absorb large amounts of valuable information.
Hybrid Renovating ™ comprises 24 modules, which are delivered in blocks of three (3) over eight (8) evening sessions, one day per week, skipping all the school and public holidays.
6 to 9.30 pm / 30 min break for dinner
By adopting this format … you’ll have plenty of time to read the notes, and ask questions as they come to mind. Inspecting, renovating, extending & building houses can be challenging enough, so the last thing you want is any more stress.
Our courses are fun and interactive, because we work with small groups of 10 – 30 participants.

I will guide you through each module … and focus on the most important sections to absorb. I’ve been a professional trainer since 2006 and know how to teach adults while still making it a fun & engaging experience.
You will meet lot’s of like minded people, and have time to make friends with the other participants. I worked out a long time ago how important it is to feed everyone well … so that’s covered too!

I will do my VERY best to answer your questions during the sessions, however if I can’t ( … and no one knows everything), then I’ll put you in touch with someone that can, or will know someone that can.
Note: Please don’t ask me any questions about ‘Interior Decorating’ or ‘Feng shui’ though; not my areas of expertise.

The primary objective of Hybrid Renovating ™ is to empower YOU with knowledge … and that’s what I’ll do!
You shouldn’t need any ongoing support because I’m going to teach you everything you need to know, including how to assembly your own great team of builders, tradespeople & consultants.
Any training course that requires lots of ongoing hand holding is unlikely to have been written by a qualified tradesperson; and it definitely hasn’t empowered you if it was.
One thing I can’t do is project manage hundreds of individual projects, you will ultimately be the BEST person to do that, all you need is some training … and remember:
“The only person that really cares about your project … is YOU!”
